The Piedmont Police Department partnered with Flock Safety to launch an Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) transparency portal. The ALPR transparency portal was created as part of a community policing policy to help engage residents and earn their trust. The ALPR portal demonstrates the proper usage of the ALPR technology, communicates the specific policies related to the use of the ALPR technology, and provides usage statistics to the public.
