Regina, SK develops an on-demand transit pilot to expand services and reduce traffic congestion
Regina, SK On-Demand Transit Pilot Expand Service
Regina Transit's four-month pilot operated in the neighborhoods covered by Route 10 buses. Residents hailed rides using a dedicated app, website, or phone line up to two days in advance. The on-demand program charged the same fare as traditional buses. City officials established a 7 pm to 1 am weeknight operating time to fill gaps in public transit. Potential expansion into other areas of the city was considered based on usage data.
