San Antonio, TX Smart Lights Innovation Zones

The city's Office of Innovation is working with Itron and CPS Energy to evaluate smart light performance over a six-month pilot. Itron installed 15 lights each in the Brooks, Downtown, and Medical Center Innovation Zones. Each fixture is outfitted with sensors that gather data on parking, climate, noise, and air quality. LED bulbs and light adjustments based on the time of day can help the city reduce energy costs.
