Santee, CA real-time public/private surveillance program
The Santee City Council is planning to join the San Diego County Sheriff's Department surveillance program to deter crime and support community policing. The "Safe Santee" program would use existing private and publicly owned camera systems to share information in real time with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The program allows deputies to obtain immediate video access from registered users and businesses so they can plan on the most appropriate response to a crime in progress.
