Toronto, ON plans automated shuttle trial with Local Motors to test future transit possibilities
Toronto, ON Local Motors Automated Shuttle Trial
A pilot lasting up to one year will use an Olli 2.0 all-electric shuttle to carry passengers in West Rouge. This self-driving shuttle navigates traffic using radar, cameras, and a pre-programmed route. Each ride is free and the shuttle holds up to eight passengers. City officials are planning a route that connects local residents to the Rouge Hill transit station. The trial allows Toronto to evaluate electric shuttles and autonomous vehicle use in real-world conditions.
