The Municipality of Tulln created the "Tulln Zehner" community currency campaign to promote local shopping during the COVID-19 pandemic. Residents pay 10% less when making purchases with Tulln Zehner and the difference is financed by the municipality. Residents with a SocialCard were able to apply for a one-time fee of €30 for up to €300 for specific purchases.

Im Wettbewerb um „Tullns schönste Weihnachtsauslage“ wurden heuer kurzerhand alle teilnehmenden Betriebe zu Siegern gekürt, die „Tullner Zehner“-Aktionen haben bereits rd. € 200.000,- an lokaler Kaufkraft generiert, schon über 1.500 Menschen informieren sich über die neue Tulln-App „Cities“ über aktuelle Angebote und alle Beteiligten helfen zusammen, um gemeinsam Weihnachtsstimmung in der Innenstadt zu schaffen: Die Stadtgemeinde Tulln, ihre BürgerInnen und UnternehmerInnen gehen solidarisch und gemeinschaftlich durch die Krise.

Project Succeeded

Approximately €200,000 was put into circulation and 100% flowed back into the Tulln economy. Over just a four-month period, the participating establishments exchanged “Tulln Zehner” worth over €140,000 which were redeemed by their customers.
