Waikato District Council, NZ "Little Libraries"

Complete

Waikato District Council created the Little Libraries project as part of its larger Placemaking programme designed to help communities in rural areas reclaim their public spaces. The project has installed 44 little libraries which each hold around 30 books for local residents to borrow and exchange. The Council partnered with Spring Hill Corrections Facility to allow prisoners to build and decorate the little libraries for the community.
