Wairoa District Council, NZ local shopping campaign
Wairoa District Council launched the "Shop Local and Win" campaign to support local retail businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic by encouraging shopping. During the campaign, any customer who spent at least $30 at any participating local business was eligible to enter into a weekly drawing. Eligible shoppers submitted entries by writing their phone number on the back of their receipt. Each week during the campaign one lucky shopper won a $100 credit to spend at a participating local store.
