The City of West Hollywood passed an expansive hotel worker protection ordinance designed to improve their working conditions. The new law requires hotel employers to provide hotel workers with personal security devices, improved compensation, public housekeeping training, and reasonable workload limits. The ordinance also broadens recall rights for laid-off hotel employees which were originally mandated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
