Winston-Salem, NC AARP FitLot for older visitors
The City of Winston-Salem's Recreation and Parks Department opened the AARP FitLot at Miller Park. The Fitlot was created with new exercise equipment designed specifically for the community's older population. There are 22 exercise options at various stations using structures that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act therefore the equipment can be used by visitors with different levels of strength and mobility.

On Friday, May 28, at 10 a.m., city officials, AARP representatives, Recreation and Parks Department staff, and most excitedly older adults, gathered to celebrate the official opening and to try out the new exercise equipment that has been installed at the park.
