Albany, NY BuildingBlocks property vacancy demolitions

Complete

The City of Albany uses Tolemi's map-based analytics tool, BuildingBlocks, to accurately account for vacant properties and prevent significant deterioration. The city's prior efforts to maintain a vacant property registry were limited to a reactive approach due to incomplete data. By integrating the BuildingBlocks tool the Department of Buildings and Regulatory Compliance can instantly and proactively determine vacancy risk and level of nuisance in order to reduce the need for demolitions.
