Brampton, ON Electric Bus Demonstration & Integration Trial

All-electric buses from New Flyer and Nova Bus are deployed on two Brampton Transit routes. Overhead charging stations at two terminals and one bus stop can fully recharge a bus battery in seven minutes. Brampton Transit worked with TransLink and York Region Transit to ensure charging compatibility once all three systems adopt electric buses. Transit officials estimate an annual emission savings of 235 tons per bus.
Project Succeeded
Brampton Transit earned the Canadian Urban Transit Association's Environmental Sustainability Award in 2021.
