The Charleston Police Department on Wednesday announced new technology meant to help solve gun-related crimes in the city. The department is now using the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network, a news release from the department said. The on-site computer system from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is used to analyze shell casings.
