Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council, GB "Together for Adoption" campaign promotes diverse adoptions
Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council along with four other local councils launched the "Together for Adoption" campaign to recruit new adopters and address common misconceptions. The campaign dispels the myth that single people, older people, and the LGBTQ community are ineligible to adopt. The campaign also actively targets potential parents for children from Black, Asian, and various Minority Ethnic backgrounds as these children wait longer on average to be matched with an adoptive family.
