City & County of Cardiff Council, GB builds on bike-sharing success with addition of e-bikes
City & County of Cardiff Council, GB E-Bike Sharing
Cardiff, OVO Energy, and nextbike added an initial fleet of 50 e-bikes to local streets. This fleet will expand to 125 e-bikes and nine charging stations in the future. Commuters pay £1 per half-hour with memberships or £2 per half-hour as guest users. City residents can stay local or ride to the neighboring Vale of Glamorgan, which also introduced OVO Energy bikes. This commitment to e-bikes follows more than 1 million trips on Cardiff's 1,000-bike fleet since 2018.
