City & County of Cardiff Council, GB Living Wage Partnership

Cardiff Council became an accredited Living Wage City in 2019. A steering group including the council, Cardiff University, and local employers established a goal of 150 Living Wage Employers by 2022. Interested organizations demonstrate living wage plans for full-time employees and contractors during the accreditation process. The partnership generated £36 million in additional payroll payments in its first three years, thus enabling financial security for thousands of workers.

Project Succeeded

The Living Wage City Partnership exceeded its goal with 171 certified employers by 2022. Cardiff Council won the Public/Private Partnership category at the LGC Awards 2022.
