City of Johannesburg, GP reactivated unpaid utilities

Complete

The City of Johannesburg reactivated utilities for all residents who were cut off from water and lights due to nonpayment. This decision was made by the Executive Mayor in response to the COVID-19 State of National Disaster and the corresponding national lockdown. This action was meant to guarantee that residents have access to basic necessities during the pandemic. However, residents were encouraged to still make payments if possible so the City would continue to have financial resources.
