Darwin, NT Place Source Census Attributes Assets Residents

Local residents were approached to complete Care Factor Surveys and Street PX Assessments. Care Factor participants prioritized their favorite elements of public spaces in nine town centers. The Street PX Assessment asked respondents to evaluate 12 main streets against 50 attributes including public space cleanliness, unique shops, and visual character. Council leaders will use the Place Source Census to prioritize supported features in long-term plans.

City of Darwin has completed a survey of Darwin residents and visitors - the 2019 Darwin Place Score Census - to assess the most highly valued attributes and assets in our city and suburbs.

Project Succeeded

Darwin received 1,574 responses to the Place Source Census over a two-month period. The council was a Data Leadership Award finalist at the 2020 Smart Cities Awards from Smart Cities Council Australia New Zealand.
