City leaders worked with four recruiters to hire residents out of work due to the pandemic. One hundred Green Army members worked 30-hour weeks across Darwin's suburbs. Assignments over 40,000 hours of work ranged from street foliage cleanup to park maintenance. The council developed small Green Army teams to expand the city's reach while complying with distancing requirements.
