The Key Cars pilot filled gaps in public transit options for essential workers during the early months of COVID-19. Participants emailed their contact information and trip requirements by email at least 48 hours prior to pickup. Devon County Council only required one email per passenger for regular trips and charged £1.50 per trip. Council staffers also recommended alternate transit routes if a worker's regular route was impacted.
