Dunedin City Council, NZ installed new traffic monitoring
Dunedin City Council installed a new traffic monitoring system to improve transport planning, understand traffic flow, and identify travel routes. The Council spent $150,000 to install 44 solar-powered, pole-mounted, AddInsight traffic sensors across the region. The sensors use Bluetooth to detect and track cars anonymously from location to location. The Council will use this information to analyse the impact of road projects on traffic patterns.
