Edmonton, AB coordinates community safety teams with its Healthy Streets Operations Centre pilot

Edmonton, AB Healthy Streets Operations Centre Pilot

In Progress

The two-year pilot assembles teams of city and provincial first responders at a Chinatown location. Weekday routes through Chinatown, Downtown, and Kingsway include interactions with business owners and residents about current safety concerns. Community safety teams connect unhoused residents with social services and health resources based on their needs. City officials work with partners like REACH Edmonton and Homeward Trust on adapting responses to changing conditions.
