The city's Animal Services and Information Technology departments collaborated on the map. Pet owners report their lost dogs and cats to 311 and these reports are added to the portal. Shelters throughout El Paso add found pets to the map when completing their intake processes. The Interactive Pet Finder Map includes photos of animals when available along with breed, color, and ID information. El Paso moved toward its no-kill goal and improved the odds for finding lost pets with this map.

City officials converted two municipal buildings into an intake and short-term accommodation facility. The Delta Haven accepts all people in need for up to six days of shelter. El Paso's resiliency plan calls for high-quality housing for all and Delta Haven helped homeless residents toward that goal.
