Laval, QC improves responses to resident requests with AI-enabled Citizen Requests portal
Residents enter their service requests into the Citizen Requests portal. Each request can be tracked from ticket to resolution from a single page. An in-house algorithm assigns requests to the appropriate departments. The system's AI analyzes departmental contacts with residents for future improvements. Laval worked with Microsoft and Gestisoft on the cloud-supported service request system with feedback from 700 public employees.

Laval, QC experimented with e-bike sharing at public transit stations
The city partnered with Bewegen to station 40 electric bikes at four transit stations. Riders were able to leave the e-bikes close to participating stations without docking thanks to built-in GPS. There were per-ride, monthly, and seasonal passes available during the three-month trial with passes covering rides up to 45 minutes per session.
