The Lincoln City Council voted unanimously to approve the Fairness Ordinance which updates the city's employment discrimination laws. The municipal code now officially bars employers from discriminating based on gender identity, military and veteran status, or sexual orientation. By updating the city's municipal code, the council hopes to create more equal opportunities, reduce discrimination, and attract new businesses to the area.
