Lincoln, NE approves permanent version of ScooterLNK e-scooter program following successful pilot

Lincoln approved Lime and Spin as e-scooter operators for the 16-month pilot. Each operator maintained a fleet of 250 scooters accessible by mobile app. Riders operated in bike lanes and roads with speed limits under 35 miles per hour within the pilot zone. ScooterLNK served 25,030 riders over 91,400 trips during the pilot period. The permanent e-scooter program expanded the pilot zone, extended hours for e-scooter use, and replaced Spin with Veo as an operator.

Lincoln, NE partners with PenLink to develop a new $8.5 million web-based justice database

Lincoln, NE upgrades wastewater treatment plant to convert methane into renewable energy

The four-year project allows the Theresa Street Water Resource Recovery Facility to convert methane into natural gas. Waste gas from stormwater treatment previously generated electricity for the plant. The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department (TUD) worked with project partners to connect the facility to commercial gas pipelines. Natural gas sold for vehicle use across the region will pay for the facility's operations.
