London Borough of Haringey is helping students return to school safely during COVID-19 through the Streetspace School programme. The Council installed temporary safety barriers to widen pavements outside schools to enable social distancing through active travel. The barriers are checked daily for safety and walking maps show students safe travel routes. The Council will consult with residents and local businesses to determine if the barriers should become a permanent safety feature.
