Port Stephens, NSW Nelson Bay Smart Parking Meter Project

The Nelson Bay parking system combines in-ground sensors, smart meters, and the Park'n'Pay app to improve visitor parking. This project encourages greater turnover in congested areas while ensuring consistent meter revenues from tourists and shoppers. Port Stephens provided free parking permits to residents and businesses ahead of full implementation. A three-month pop-up shop in the CBD educated interested parties about the ins and outs of smart parking.
