Prince George's County, MD offensive monument names

Planning

Prince George's County's Responsible Legacy Task Force is reviewing monuments with potentially-offensive names. The task force opened a survey asking residents to identify inappropriate designations, suggest alternate names, and list criteria that should be used to prompt a monument's name change. The committee plans to consider name changes for any landmarks linked with confederate sympathy, slavery, racism, white supremacy, misogyny, LGBTQ or indigenous people discrimination, etc.
