London Borough of Sutton, GB receives early flood warnings during road sensor pilot
London Borough of Sutton, GB Road Flood Sensor Pilot
Borough officials are working with Aquasition to test flood sensors on six roads in Kingston. The sensors send notifications to assigned personnel when surface water levels represent threats to local streets. Contractors are deployed to divert excess water from drains and minimize the impacts of heavy rains. The Aquasition pilot is the council's response to a 2020 flood in Kingston Town Centre that halted traffic and damaged properties.
