The City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu's Public Works Mechanical Workshop Division partnered with the Transport Division to design an innovative transport trailer. The trailer was designed to more safely and efficiently transport up to eighteen traffic cones. The trailer was constructed by using discarded streetlights to modify a trailer meant for transporting snowmobiles.
Project Succeeded
The modified trailer has considerably reduced the risks associated with transporting traffic cones by eliminating the need for technicians to do flexions or lumbar extensions. The City received an award for Innovation at the 2019 Occupational Health and Safety Grands Prix.
