Seattle partnered with a company to release an app that helps the homeless. When a user walks by a homeless person, they will receive a notification. They can read the homeless person's story and give money. The homeless user can then go to certain stores to buy what they need.

The Samaritan app works by giving people in need of housing a Bluetooth-enabled beacon that serves as a smart wallet that others can donate to.
