Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, GB Autonomous Shuttle
In Progress
Council officials acquired an Aurrigo Auto-Shuttle for an 18-month pilot on local roads. The 10-seat, all-electric shuttle uses onboard sensors for safe operation in traffic. The trial started with free trips for locals on a one-mile route starting from the National Exhibition Centre. Solihull later tested the Auto-Shuttle on a route around Birmingham Airport. The council plans two fixed routes served by autonomous vehicles and overseen by a regional Remote Monitoring Teleoperation facility.
