South Taranaki District Council, NZ kerbside recycling audit program to reduce contamination

South Taranaki District Council, NZ recycling bin audits

In Progress

South Taranaki District Council launched the "Sort it, South Taranaki" audit program to help residents reduce kerbside recycling contamination. During kerbside recycling audits, residential bins are tagged green, amber, or red depending on the results. Green tags are for "recycling superstars", amber tags mean only a few items were misplaced, and red tags indicate the bin was highly contaminated. Red tag bins are not collected and repeat offenders have their recycling service suspended.
