Sutherland Shire, NSW Clothing Soft Plastic Recycling

Sutherland Shire residents schedule pickups of clothing, plastic packaging, and plastic film through the RecycleSmart app. Participating households receive free reusable bags to hold recyclable materials. On the scheduled date, a RecycleSmart driver picks up the materials and leaves the bag for future uses. Each pickup costs $2 AUD. The council's partnership with RecycleSmart was expedited to improve recycling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
