The Tulsa Mayor's Office of Performance Strategy and Innovation partnered with the Tulsa Municipal Court to pilot an automated text message reminder system built according to behavioral science principles. These automated text reminders use a script developed by Code for Tulsa to remind residents to pay municipal court fees on time and avoid fines.

Court Texting Program Shows Success - News On 6
The City of Tulsa will soon implement a program that texts offenders reminders about fines. Tulsa is one of the first cities in the state to test this program and the city has had a lot of success.
Project Succeeded
During the six-month pilot, 63% of those who received a text message reminder paid all of their outstanding fines, compared to only 48% of residents who did not receive a reminder. Tulsa estimates that the annual impact of this work amounts to an estimated 320 people paying outstanding fees on time, an additional $187,000 in annual revenue and an estimated 15% reduction in municipal warrants.
