Victoria, BC evaluates the effectiveness of AI technology in identifying potholes during pilot

The city's public works team will use an AI-powered platform called CityROVER for the evaluation of road conditions. Inputs such as road condition assessments conducted every three years and maintenance reports shape the platform's analysis. The pilot determines the effectiveness of AI at finding current potholes and estimating future road maintenance needs. Local officials hope the technology expedites road maintenance for 279 kilometers of city streets.
