Western Bay of Plenty District Council, NZ conducted a six-month rural recycling drop-off trial
Western Bay of Plenty District Council partnered with Waste Watchers Limited to conduct a six-month Pongakawa rural recycling trial. This project established the Pongakawa mobile recycling centre to support rural areas where the Council does not plan to implement a kerbside collection service. The trial was designed to examine the use of drop-off points in order to evaluate the level of demand for a kerbside recycling, glass, and rubbish collection service in those rural areas.
