Whangarei District Council, NZ First Region E-Scooter Pilot
Council officials approved a six-month pilot with Singapore mobility provider Beam. The company operates 200 scooters in a pilot area that connects to multi-use paths and pedestrian areas. Onboard GPS systems limit speeds to 15 kilometers per hour in the city center and manual peddling through the Cameron Street Mall. Riders aged 16 and over can rent Beam e-scooters daily between 6:00 am and 9:00 pm.
