Winnebago County, IL is giving residents free Ring surveillance doorbells to improve public safety
Winnebago County is using $40,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funding to provide residents with free Ring surveillance doorbell cameras. The Ring mobile app allows neighbors to communicate, share videos, and contact the sheriff to prevent criminal activity. The Winnebago County Public Safety Chairman wants to expand this initiative targeting areas with higher crime rates and identify individuals committing crimes with the Ring system.
