Winnebago County, IL police SUVs with COVID-killing tech
The Winnebago County Sheriff's Department is planning to slowly replace its 35-car fleet with SUVs equipped with COVID-killing technology. The sanitizing software program designed by Ford elevates the interior of the vehicles to temperatures above 133 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes which completely disinfects the vehicle and neutralizes the virus. This mass vehicle purchase will need to undergo a compliance review by an auditing firm to verify it qualifies for American Rescue Plan funding.
