The City of Abbotsford launched a new fully-automated curbside collection program for recycling, compostables, and garbage. Each resident received one 240-litre cart for each of the three waste streams and the ability to upsize or downsize their carts within 90 days. The new automated collection waste trucks are powered by renewable diesel, safer for the sanitation workers, and produce fewer carbon emissions.
