Emergency dispatchers tested the FirstNet platform with non-emergency calls to Alex311 during a successful one-month trial. A dispatcher uses a mobile hotspot to connect with call queues and computer-aided dispatch capabilities via FirstNet. City officials use FirstNet to distance dispatchers and mobilize on-call staffers to handle high call volumes. Alexandria is the first city in the United States to implement FirstNet for emergency calls.

She told us, “our mission is to help people and we will do whatever we have to to be creative and innovative. ” Daniel Guttormson is part of that innovation.
