The City of Austin is partnering with non-profit Fruitful Commons on plans to expand the Festival Beach Food Forest. The city's food forest started as an urban community garden and now houses a variety of plants providing fruits, vegetables and herbs for local residents and organizations. The city's parks department is reviewing the site's possible expansion plans including outdoor gathering spaces, a teaching kitchen, additional trails, etc.
