In Progress

Birmingham City Council developed an innovation solution for social distancing at its parks during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Council's grounds maintenance team is cutting channels approximately two meters in width when mowing the grass at 591 sites throughout the region. These channels act as a visual guide for residents to safely remain two meters apart when accessing the city's open spaces.
