Byron, NSW tested remote pressure valves for water pipes in Mullumbimby area

Byron, NSW Remote Pressure Valve Test Mullumbimby

Complete

The six-month pilot studied the impacts of pressure reduction valves in the shire's administrative center. Each valve gathers data on water pressure and sends information back to the Utilities department. Remote control of the trialed valves reduced strain on local pipes and avoided costly leaks. Byron officials estimated a potential 40% reduction in leaks and a 20% reduction in pipes prior to the pilot.
