Cheshire East Council, GB partners with Storengy UK on hydrogen refueling project
Cheshire East Council, GB Storengy UK Hydrogen Refueling
In Progress
The council-operated Environmental Hub hosts a refueling station for two Cheshire East hybrid trucks and one Storengy UK vehicle. A solar-powered electrolyzer turns water from the hub into hydrogen with oxygen as the lone byproduct. Cheshire East Council will evaluate the station's impacts over a three-year period as they consider additional hydrogen infrastructure. The project is estimated to cut annual diesel use by 10,000 liters and eliminate 30 tons of carbon emissions per year.
Project Succeeded
Cheshire East Council and Storengy UK were named finalists in the Climate Response category for the LGC Awards 2021.
