Chicago, IL Wildlife Management and Coexistence Plan

Complete

The city of Chicago's Animal Care and Control Department partnered with the Lincoln Park Zoo's Urban Wildlife Institute to create a Wildlife Management and Coexistence Plan. The plan was designed to educate residents about the city's wild animals specifically in regards to when they can be left alone instead of captured. The department also updated its 311 system to prompt questions about an animal's behavior to redirect calls about peaceful animals to the plan instead.
