The Chicago City Council approved the mayor's "Chicago Moves" plan to use $12.5 million in city funds to give away prepaid gas cards and Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) passes. The plan calls for the distribution of 50,000 prepaid gas cards that cover $150 worth of gas each and 100,000 passes that will cover $50 worth of CTA rides. Residents in community areas that face higher mobility hardship will receive 75% of the available gas cards.
