City of York Council, GB TIER E-Scooter Pilot
Council members approved a 12-month pilot at the University of York and York Hospital. TIER initially operated 100 e-scooters with plans to add e-bikes later in the trial. TIER and the City of York worked with Sight Loss Councils to identify potential concerns about e-scooter use for visually impaired residents. York's e-scooter pilot connected short-term concerns about distanced travel with the goals of its Smart Transport Evolution Programme.
